Your City Guides for the Curious Traveler

Sundays Are For Driving

Our Story

Hello, and welcome to Sundays Are For Driving—our way of exploring the marvelous place we all call Earth.

We’ve long suspected we’re dromomaniacs at heart... called to wander, discover, and learn from every corner of the globe. Maybe it was the travel bug, maybe just an insatiable curiosity, but we’ve embraced the call. Plane, boat, train, bus, on foot, with flippers, or our favorite—by car—we’re in. For us, travel is about more than miles; it’s about culture, food, and those small, unplanned experiences that make a place unforgettable.

Over the years, we’ve fielded every kind of question: How do you choose where to go? How do you find the best things to do? What do you pack—and how do you fit it all in a two-seater? How are you always sharing a beer with the guide? And our favorite: You inspire me to travel... I’m coming with you next time.

This blog is our answer to all of that. It’s a place where we share what we’ve learned—city by city, trip by trip—so you can find your own road less traveled. Think of it as the view under the hood: honest stories, thoughtful guides, and hopefully a spark to set you off on your own journey.

Slow Roads. Full Hearts. Honest Travel.

Whether it’s cars, trains, boats or airplanes, the journey is sometimes as exciting as the destination.

The Automobile

It might be the inspiration for our site, but vehicles with four wheels are just one thing that give us our sense of connection to the world.

The Boat

Our newest mode of transportation. While the Covid-19 Pandemic limited travel, we desperately needed a way to explore - but keep ourselves safe. Our solution, let’s explore the Puget Sound, by boat.

The Plane

Flying has always carried a certain magic—the hum of takeoff, the world shrinking beneath you, and new horizons opening ahead. It’s the mode of travel that turns far-off dreams into reachable adventures.
